NEVER SUBTLE
Dopamine Dressing
A high-colour collection that treats getting dressed as a social gesture: an invitation to notice, comment and begin a conversation.
Premise
What if impact could be social, not performative?
NEVER SUBTLE starts with dopamine dressing, but the goal is not maximalism for its own sake. It asks how colour, silhouette and recognisable separates can make someone easier to approach—turning a compliment into a small point of connection.
The collection therefore balances brightness with clarity. Pleating, tailoring and bustier construction give the colour story enough structure to remain wearable rather than tipping into costume.
Research
Colour as an icebreaker.
The research moves through dopamine dressing, audience behaviour and the visual cues that make a garment feel bold without feeling disguised.
Making
Build the energy into the garment.
Sunray pleating, structured bustier work and fabric selection carry the colour story into construction. The point is to keep the collection graphic and immediate while allowing each piece to function as clothing first.
